About Us
is a division launched in 2010 by James Frew Ltd to meet the growing need for renewable energy solutions. James Frew celebrates 100 years of business in 2011 and until now we have been providing our customers with heating and hot water solutions based on fossil fuels. We have now taken our business model and adapted it to our new venture as renewable energy installers for Solar Thermal, Solar Photovoltaic cells and Heat Pumps. As the market for renewable energy solutions develops we will include other technologies such as Biomass and Combined Heat and Power (CHP).
Our company employs around 200 people involved in a wide variety of projects such as central heating installations, underfloor heating systems and refurbishment of existing properties. As well as serving the domestic market we work with a number of bodies such as local councils, housing associations and house builders. For further information about the company please access our main website at www.jamesfrew.co.uk.
Why sustainable energy?
This new strand to our business has developed as a result of the ongoing energy crisis facing us all. Everyone is aware of the spiralling costs of energy and we realise and understand that we cannot continue to consume fossil fuels at the current rate without drastic changes in how we use these limited resources. We all need to reduce our dependence on the energy sources we have all taken for granted and, in line with government energy policies, this new venture is a logical step.
With the huge increases in energy consumption in the world and the ever increasing emission of CO2 we are rapidly getting to the point where 'normal' sources of energy such as oil, gas and electricity are no longer sustainable. Finite resources of energy such as those already mentioned cannot continue to provide our energy needs for ever. We all need to make changes in the way we consume energy.
